The NJIRT is contacted through a 24 hour dispatch service via individual pagers. The Team can be alerted by any private citizen or local, state, or Federal agency. Once a page has been initiated, contact will be established by one of the Team's Officers. Based on the available information, they will evaluate the situation, establish a level of urgency, and begin mobilizing the appropriate resources for the situation. They may also initiate contact with other area SAR providers who might be needed as well for the mission. Team personnel are generally mobilized within 30 minutes of notification and our "on scene" time is travel dependent. |
